There are 2 routes to be followed. The one slightly longer but with mainly main routes and highways, and much bussier. and the other queter, more scenic, but with a 60km dirt road included..

1) Take the N1 highway from Pretoria /Johannesburg. Go around Polokwane (PIetersburg), and follow the route markers to Dendron (Zimbabwe). From there you follow the route to Vivo,  and Alldays.  In Alldays, you follow the road to Swartwater. About 40 km's, later you will see the route marker for Platjan Border post. Turn right.  Rietfontein is 8 km's on the right hand side on this road. You will see the mountain from a distance.

2) This route is slightly shorter, but also include a long piece of dirtroad, not suitable for most sedan vehicles. You will turn away from the N1 highway at Nylstroom. You then follow the route to Vaalwater, Melkrivier, Marken, Baltimore and then Tolwe.  It's from here that you will find the dirt road.  Follow it to the cross road  Maasstroom / Swartwater.  Keep on straigh in the direction of the border post.  The farm is 8 km's from the cross road on the righhand side. You will se the mountain from a distance.
